Mooncakes are back at Yi Soon Bakery
As the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival is occurring on September 12th this year, Mooncakes are already back at Yi Soon Bakery in Allston, which is my favorite Chinese bakery in the area overall, and also my favorite for Mooncakes.

Tried the mini green tea ones today, which were awesome as always. Also tried the lotus (with preserved egg yolk) and pineapple. The lotus was my favorite and the pineapple was a little too sweet for my taste.
I wish I could eat 4-5 different ones, but they weigh about .5# each and I assume they are over 1000 calories a piece.›5 Replies-

re: StriperGuy
Wiki tells me somewhere between 800 and 1200 calories (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mooncakes). My stomach this morning after throwing back a couple yesterday, tells me somewhere between 12,000 and a billion. I hate myself for wanting to go back for round 2 today.

Yi Soon has always been my fav. I don't think anyone in Boston can touch their Mooncakes. And I've posted ad absurdem on other Yi Soon items I love.
I also have gotten hooked on SOME items at Great Taste.
Great Taste's Portuguese tart is in my top three Boston desserts of all time. Right up there with the Adzuki Cream puff from Japponaise, the Jamaica from Athans and...
