Hi all, Boston hound heading out west in a couple weeks for some college nostalgia. Is there anyplace in the Amherst/Northampton area doing craft/interesting cocktails?

Just wanted to say thanks again - we tried Amherst Coffee one evening, where I had a nice tart Sidecar and my husband had a Corpse Reviver #2, and also Hope & Olive where we both had a seasonal drink involving bourbon and apple cider (at lunch [blushes]). I don't think I'd have happened on either of these places for cocktails without help from the board.

Not sure if you consider Greenfield part of "Amherst/Northampton," but Hope and Olive pours some very interesting drinks.

Tabella's in Amherst does creative cocktails really well. They are pricey but I still remember a fine pickled fennel martini that I had there a few years ago:

Amherst Coffee next door is also very good:

I haven't spent much time there in quite a while, but the last I was back, we had brunch at a spot in Northampton called the Dirty Truth. Long and narrow with sort of minimalist, hip decor, a short but good menu, and a great list of craft beers (40 taps, lots of bottles!). We were told it gets pretty crowded at night. If you're into craft beer, it doesn't get much better than this.
