Dinner in Mendocino

One night only in Mendocino next week and would so welcome any and all dining suggestions. Of course, we love seafood and also wild game. Also, if anyone has a favorite place for a lunch stop en route to Mendocino from Napa, please tell me.

Thanks!

Napa to Mendocino by which route? If going to 1 try Hole in the Wall Sebastopol. Mendocino is on the California board.

Cafe Beaujolais in Mendocino is great. They also have a bakery called the Brickery that does great bread. Their rye bread was some of the best we've ever had.
the restaurant has been there as long as I can remember, I hope they are still there. They have a dish that's sturgeon in a local mushroom and truffle reduction that is to die for. We've had the same sauce with scallops too, and I list it as one of the best dishes I've ever had.
The restaurant closes from, I think, Thanksgiving to Valentines day.

Thank you so much! I have made us reservations at Cafe Beaujolais for the one night we will be in Mendocino. Their menu looks divine!

If you are driving thru Healdsburg, I would recommend Zin, an American bistro with a focus on Zinfindel. Moderately priced amoung some great, but expensive places. Their take on Hash is always a winner.

Funny, we ate at Zin last summer and really enjoyed it. Frankly, I don't know how hungry we will be for lunch, since we'll eat at our Napa hotel for breakfast and the night before, we are going to The French Laundry. I am going to call this the "eat my way through California" trip!
I remember Zin had a great lunch!

I doubt if you will be hungry. Enjoy your French Laundry experience!

The French Laundry is not a big "honkin'" dinner, rather a lot of wonderful morsels of goodness that seemed to keep coming, but at a properly timed pace...at least that was our experience.
