weekday brunch in KC

AmandaRG Aug 22, 2011 02:30 PM

Hi, I'm going to be in KC with an morning appointment which should be finished around 9:30. We're travelling from Manhattan KS so I'm sure by then we'll be starving. We like all kinds of food and always look forward to our trips in KC so we can go out to more interesting restaurants then what we have in Manhattan. We'll be at the KU medical center but we're willing to drive anywhere in the area (about 30min or so) to eat. Last week we ate at room 39 and loved it but we want to explore other restaurants while we have the chance. It needs to be a sit down (not buffet, one of us is on crutches). We're also not looking for anything particularly expensive (under $20 entree's please).

We're actually headed tomorrow to The Big Biscuit in Shawnee; a ways from KU Med but probably within your 30-minute time limit. And, if you're headed back to Manhattan after, it would be on your way out of town. Not "fancy" like Room 39, but delicious food in a clean, friendly atmosphere.

You Say Tomato, at 28th and Holmes in the Hospital Hill neighborhood, is fun and different and "brunchy." It's an "order at the counter and then they bring it to you" place, so I don't know if it's a problem for the crutches person.
