Lunch after flight.....

We are flying into LAX next Thursday and driving south to Dana Point. There will be 4 adults and one child (1 1/2). We need a good place for lunch. We need something not to far off the freeway and not to upscale for the kiddo. We are doing Break of Dawn, Watermarc, and Crowbar on other days.
Any suggestions???

Your thread sounded familiar so I checked your last thread. Did you ever find your dumplings? If not, this might be a chance, Peking Chinese Restaurant in Westminster and Myung In Dumplings in Garden Grove aren't too far off the freeways.

And when you say "Crowbar" do you mean the crow bar and kitchen in Corona del Mar? Despite the fact that it replaced one of our old favorites, Matteo's Hoboken, we do love crow bar.

We did find dumplings, but I do not remember the name of the place.

what will the 1 1/2 year old eat?
will the adults be open to ethnic food, such as Thai food?

Pann's is good, but the wrong direction.

I'd get away from LAX and head to OC.

Pho Quang Trung and Pho Nguyen Hue are not too far off the 405 and are maybe 35 minutes south of LAX and 35-40 north of Dana Point.

Pann's is on La Tijera, north of LAX. You are heading south.

My suggestion is on the west side of Main Street in El Segundo, just south of LAX. Big Mike's. Excellent Philly cheesesteaks, good burgers and salads, great light onion rings with a batter crust.

If it is near or after 3, there is a farmers market toward the south end of Main Street on Thurs afternoons, and Big Mista's is there. Many on this board think they, along with Bludso's in Compton, serve the best BBQ in SoCal. Get some brisket sandwiches.

Just minutes from LAX is Pann's. A great 1950's style diner ( “Googie” style architecture. Pann’s has received The Los Angeles Conservancy’s Award for best example of “Classic 50’s Coffee Shop”) they serve great biscuits, chicken and waffles and the best patty melt in LA. Very casual.

In and Out, depending on where you are from. Some consider it their FIRST stop when landing in LA.
