Groceries in walking distance from Sheraton Eau Claire?

Hi,

Am heading back to Calgary for a work trip in September. Will be there for a week and am wondering if there is a place within a few minutes walking distance from the Sheraton Eau Claire on Barclay Parade SW where I can get some groceries like almond "milk", yogurt, fresh fruit etc. I was on the Eau Claire Market website and I see an Island Foods listed but the website is dead. Is it still there?

thanks Everyone! I will map all these places out.
If I can finish work at a decent time, I'll venture to as many as possible. It'll help me get to know more of my surroundings. The last time that I was there it was pretty much hotel-office-hotel-office.
makan2, I guess I should say almond beverage like Almond Breeze. I have a strange addiction to it.

Chinatown is close by (3rd & 4th Avenue and 1st Street and Centre Street) - you can get fresh fruit there at the different stores like Hang Fung. I'm not sure what you mean by almond "milk" but they have sweetend soya milk in almond flavour in these stores.

The produce at Island Foods is usually past my prime, unless they've improved recently (haven't been there in a while).

Sunnyside Market (natural foods) and Safeway in Kensington are your best bet. If you take Route 419 at the corner of 2nd Ave & 4th St SW, it will take you right there. Or you could take the Northbound ("Crowfoot") C-Train to Sunnyside station. If you don't want to take the bus, it's only a 15 minute walk along the river.

If you want to check out a Farmer's Market, a small one takes place every Wednesday until mid-October) from 3:30 - 7:30 at the Sunnyside Hillhurst Community Centre (~25 min walk from the Sheraton).

Island Foods was still there last weekend. They do have a variety of products other than the obviously 'island' ones.

Yes last time I was in the shopping centre it was still there probably that is the easiest . Only other one is to walk over to kennsgtion Safeway or take the train.
