ISO fun dinner place to bring my kids for my birthday

Its my birthday on Saturday and my hubby and two step sons want to take me to dinner. So I want to go somewhere where my boys will have fun amd i can enjoy the food. They are 8 an 10, not terribly picky, and mature so they can appreciate a lot more quirky stiff than little kids so it doesn't have to be mideval times or something ridiculous. I know this post is a little ambiguous... Something where the food is decent but the resto has some sort of appeal beyond the food. For example the boys like planet Hollywood but the food sucks. I like the local tiki bar and the boys would like it but it's too adult.

The food doesnt have to be amazing just good. Last year my birthday was totally ruined and we ended up going to Outback. It was disgusting.

Sorry but I don't know exacty how to ask or what I'm seeking but hopefully you guys can start me in the right direction?

Can be pretty much anywhere in socal.

Fogo De Chao and Park's BBQ are good ideas, what about Sofi Greek Restaurant on Third St, flaming cheese (everyone yell "opa!") is always interesting. Or The Original Farmer's Market for the myriad of choices there (dare I mention Maggiano's, their patio is great).

You might like Park's BBQ. Amazing Korean meats cooked at your table. Wonderful service and wonderful food. One of my favorites in all of LA and my kids love it too.

You all might enjoy Fogo De Chao in Beverly Hills for an all you can eat Brazilian feast. Along with all the various types of meat (carved off of skewers at your table by roving "gauchos") you can eat they also have a tremendous salad bar where the kids can pick and choose exactly what they want.

Okay it looks like we are gonna go with this, but I wanted to throw it out there one more time before I reserve. Anything else someone wants to suggest? A resto with personality?
