Chowish Toronto restaurant recs near 1 King West - any suggestions?

We'll be visiting Toronto at the end of this month and would love some suggestions for places where the Chowhounds love to eat. Preferably moderately priced, and within reasonable walking distance of the One King West hotel. A great Jewish deli would be a bonus! Thanks for your help.

  1. The Gabardine.

Petit Thuet on the first floor of the hotel is a good French coffee/pastry spot (when they have stock).

Terroni on Adelaide East for pizza/pasta tho there'll be the usual gang who disagree.

As for delis, there aren't any in the downtown core worth bothering. Steer clear of Shopsy's and the Pickle Barrel.

Good suggestions on this list. Some more ideas:
Beerbistro for interesting beers and okish food
Khao San Road for great thai, still walkable
Carisma, less casual than Terroni Italian
      Origin, fun fusion/international tapas
Hiro Sushi, only if you sit at the bar and order omakase (others will disagree)
Finally, my Jewish friends and I like the Corned Beef House

      Khao San Road

        I second Origin

BeerBistro - love the beer selection. The food quality has deteriorated. The lobster quesadillas (which were a favourite) were barely edible last week, the fries were cold and limp

I like Mercatto on Toronto St for casual pizza/italian

I like O&B on the corner of Front and Yonge Sts for casual fare and nice place to sit at the bar
