Hurray! Let the poor oppressed workers of Century City rise up and dance! Even better--it appears as if rid we are rid of the Patina Group entirely. Oh- let us rejoice!

Leases have been signed for the following: Piknic, Junior Deli Boys, Habanero Grill, Cuvee and The Stand. Thoughts?

I went there once, stupidly. Such overpriced horrible food. Thank heavens for Mrs. Winston's. The Stand? is that the high-end hot dog place?

I like the Stand's hot dogs, burgers and fries. You probably won't want them every day, but it's a well-run place, and I'm sure they'll have some salads too.

For Judi, and all you others unfortunate enough to have to work in Century City where your major decision of the day is where to eat lunch that is least offensive and maybe even affordable. I did it for 1-2 years at 1999 AofStars, and I totally empathize.
As to salads, here is the current menu at the Stand, which will be VERY popular with 'hounds and everyone else.

I also like the stand's food, but would find eating hot dogs every day too death-defying (and stained shirt-defying) for every day. While tasty, those things can make a mess!

Gee, you don't have a very strong opinion about this do you? ;-) I certainly hope "Junior Deli Boys" turns out better than that Junior's outpost at the beach.

Walked into the Junior Deli Boys in Manhattan Beach to check it out. Agree with chopstix's evaluation: "The place has no soul." If you didn't know it was a deli, it could have been ANY chain sandwich shop or shopping mall food court place.

Any timeline on this development? I started working in Century City last fall, and after about two weeks came to the same conclusion you did -- there really is nothing decent to eat at the Kitchen, except the salad bar. Soups are watery, rice is gummy at the asian station, mexican is just eh, and the burgers are just plain awful.

I pretty much eat at City Express every day I don't bring lunch. A change of pace will be excellent!

Swill Hut closes April 14. New restaurants will open in October/November.

That's a long time with few nearby options, and the list of new restaurants does not instill me with confidence. I like The Stand in Encino, but it's only quasi-fast food. I'm not sure how it will work as a high-volume, quick turnaround place like it will need to be in Century City.
