Help - Vegan + Low Residue Diet: Lower East Side
Meeting our vegan son on LES next Sunday. Problem is: I have to maintain a low residue diet that day (Dr's orders). SO what can we eat (and where) that would meet my needs as well as please my son? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Low Residue Diet: low-fiber foods that are easy for your body to digest; NO skins; NO whole grains; NO seeds; NO nuts; NO juice pulp
Would a vegan Chinese place work for you? Congee, noodles, soup, or something like that? I've ordered in from Buddha Bodhai many times (but I can't vouch for what it's like to eat there). It's hit or miss, but when it's good, it's very good.

Two good options: Wild Ginger and Caravan of Dreams. Both are vegan and although some things on the menu wouldn't qualify for your diet, there are plenty of options that should work for you.
