Allegro @ Farmington Hills, MI (DTW)

I was attending a picnic today and was chatting with an acquaintance and his
new (Russian) bride. When the topic of 'food' came up, she had a few favorites
that I do not recall being mentiioned before:

Allegro; NE corner of 14 Mile/NW/Orchard Lake. Apparently, "around the side." She says the food
is more authentic than Fiddler.

Can't say I've ever seen a dish described as, "Baby chicks, marinated and spiced, then press grilled to a crispy finish."

Same opening hours as TJ's Shanghai dumplings. We will have to see if they have red bean paste ice cream.

Er, I think I'd prefer bacon dumplings with mint sauce. ;-)

C'mon you guys, I was serious. It's named Chicken Tabaka (item 8 on pg 2 of the menu----see link above).
...not that bacon dumplings with mint sauce would be bad, either.

According to that other food site (Y) they do a fixed price tasting menu for groups and you choose the specialties. It is a bit pricey compared to our other parties but has a possibility after the street chicken party.

          Hello Detroit,

As a former Detroiter and daughter of Russian speakers; I can tell you that yes Allegro is a LOT better than Fiddler, but also slightly more expensive. It would definatley be an experience for ya'll to go on a friday or saturday night. They have entertainment (cant speak for the quality) Enjoy, Nah Zdarovyah!

      3. Is this where Yossi's was?
