My wife and I have been coming to Anna Maria Island for a few years now and even got married here and have to recommend it to anyone looking to unwind, relax on gorgeous beaches, and enjoy great food & vibes. When we are here, we vow to "never leave the island" and pretty much don't because it's all already here for us. Rent a golf cart and watch the stress melt away in the Florida sun....

Lots of fun to excellent spots on this little low-key island like BEACH BISTRO, MERMAID INN, SKIPPYS, FUSION CAFE, THE WATERFRONT, ROD & REEL, HURRICANE HANKS, FEELING SWELL, MR.BONES and THE ANCHOR or DECOY DUCKS when you are ready to cut loose and raise a little hell.

It sucks when we have to return to our regular lives, definitely on our 'retirement radar' lol

  1. Cool! The spousal unit and I have reserved a cottage down there for a week in October...will check out some of your recs. :)

    1. Isn't it great? We bought a vacation house in Holmes Beach last year and love to get down there as often as we can. Great restaurants - we're just 2 blocks from the Beach Bistro and looking forward to trying his new place Eat Here, the next trip down.
