Wine bar or classy patio in North Toronto wanted
I just moved into the Mount Pleasant and Eglinton area and am having a really hard time finding a place to enjoy a nice glass of wine (ideally with a patio too!) for a romantic evening or night out with girlfriends. All there seems to be are pubs! Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!
(*Good and affordable bistros seem hard to come by as well, but maybe that should be left for another post!)

The closest thing to a wine bar in the area is downstairs at Centro, which, of course, isn't a patio.Coquine is all right depending on the time, the bar being quite busy. Much nicer on the Manor Road patio. The other posters are correct as well. If you're going to go in the next couple of weeks, try Lai Toh Heen before it closes. Very pretty room.

I concur re Zee, Simple, and Quince for a reasonable and nice dinner out (of the three, Zee is perhaps a bit more expensive, but that's because it's seafood). Although it's not a bistro, I'd also add Zucca, where you can get good wine along with a delicious (though not cheap) Italian meal. I also second the Grano recco if you're looking for a nice patio - they have a lovely terrace out back (I've found their food to be a bit inconsistent, but have enjoyed it more often than not).
If you're looking for a buzzy/sceney place for a night out with your girlfriends, I think Coquine is the place to go, though the food isn't anything special. I also concur with the suggestion of Tabule for dinner with the girlfriends.

The Miller Tavern has a nice patio for wine/drinks. Food is very mediocre in my limited experience. Recommending the Miller solely for the patio & drinks. ;-)
Grano also has a back patio- more rustic than classy, but not pubby.
Quince and Simple are a couple good, affordable bistros I'd recommend in North TO. Steak Frites and Mogette have also been recommended on this Board.-----

On Mt. Pleasant, Zee Grill and Simple Bistro come to mind. Neither have a nice patio, though Zee Grill has a kinda/sorta patio in back, but it's totally enclosed. But both would be good places for a nice glass of wine and a nice dinner.
On Yonge, south of Eg, you've got Zucca and Tabule, with Tabule perhaps better for the night out with girlfriends than romance. And Coquine is not the greatest for food, but the atmosphere is great and the bar is beautiful and buzzing. Five Doors North would be a fun spot with the girls, too.
