Hi Portland!

My vegetarian boyfriend and I will be flying into PDX tomorrow morning from Boulder, CO. We will be traveling to Albany and then will be spending Sunday in Bend, flying back Monday evening.

Looking for places to eat in Portland that are unique to the area while also catering to a vegetarian and omnivore. I would love to find a place with offal (clyde common/le pigeon?) but that also has vegetarian options. Love sushi and asian as well... We were leaning towards toro bravo for lunch but just wanted to throw ourselves in your hands to experience the best of your city.

Any and all suggestions would be so very much appreciated... Thanks in advance!!

I'm not a Portland local, but I was just at Le Pigeon about a week ago. It is a very short menu, and while there was one app and one entree that were vegetarian-friendly, that was it. Great food though.

Toro Bravo is not open for lunch - but Tasty and Sons (by the same owner) is open for breakfast/lunch/dinner. Not sure how veg friendly it is...it's quite popular on the weekends with a significant line.

If your vegetarian partner eats fish/seafood you'd probably do better - but if not, there might only be a singular vegetarian option at a variety of places.

You can always go to a food cart pod - the one at 42nd and Belmont has an excellent vegan cart (Kitchen Dances) and an excellent pork-focused card (Lardo).

ahhh thank you so much for pointing out that toro bravo isn't open for lunch! we were debating between that and pok pok and now it makes the decision quite easy...

appreciate the suggestion of the food carts! i'll definitely look into that possibility. thanks!!
