Best place for birthday dinner in Houston?
"tho I don't live in H., I go there often and I LOVE "Feast" restaurant on Westheimer, near
downtown. It's one of thos "nose to tail" places with things on the menu that you may not
eat (specifically veal liver with bacon & oninons) but if you like THAT, you will love it here, as
well as many other items on the menu.. My sister and I had the "chef's menu" one night and
adored most of the menu...not the haggis and not the house made bangers, but the sticky toffee pudding (cake) was worth the price of admission, alone. Check them out on the web and see if they fit your bill.
I ended up booking at Brennan's and wanted to thank you, DaTulip, for the great suggestion.
We actually arrived a bit late but they still respected our reservation, and although they rushed us a bit (because it was late) everything was great (food, wine, service). I didn't find it too pompous or too expensive either (it's by no means a cheap place, but it was in line with what I expected)..
