OC BBQ Bonanza?

Hi! Has anyone been to this or know anything about it? I'm having mad BBQ cravings lately, and I heart festivals. I know that the food at festivals is rarely as good as you want it to be, but if my Friday could be sun, beer, and pretty good bbq grazing, I'd call it a win. :)

Any report on the OC BBQ Bonanza?

If you like BBQ Festivals, the best one is the LA Festival September 9-11 at the Santa Monica Pier. Top BBQ restaurants and teams from around the country will be there. I really think you would enjoy this.

Honestly, when I need a real BBQ fix, I go to either Big Mista at the El Segundo Farmer's Market on Thursdays afternoons, or Bludso's in Compton.

Here is a link to the LA BBQ Festival at the Santa Monica Pier: $60 for AYCE.

I also highly recommend Big Mista.

I haven't heard of this particular place, but I'm a bit of a 'que snob my bad self, and I'd definitely recommend Lucille's. I've been to the one off the I-5 and El Toro, and I understand there's another in OC as well.
The place is like a big old rambling house, and the que is always git down good, with all the right sides, such as greens, sweet taters, cornbread, beans, etc. All this and a full bar too.

I very much disagree with the recommendation of Lucille's. Other branches may be better, but as to the one in The District in Tustin, I personally think it is mediocre at best (I actually think it's pretty poor). OC is definitely not KC or Dallas, but I do think that the BBQ at Blake's in Anaheim is darn good, especially the brisket and pulled pork. We often get the brisket to go, and it makes a pretty fine dinner. Their sit-down area is very small and only ok for a sandwich at lunch. Most of their business is "to go" and I heartily recommend the brisket and pork.
