We've been a couple of times (bought one of the coupons.) It's pretty good. The first time we went they seemed to be Indian/Italian fusion, the second time, it was just Indian. They seem to run a constant deal on groupon's "Now!" deals and WagJag's equivalent instant deals, and they have a prix fixe menu as well. Not the best place I've ever been, but pretty good, and an excellent value with the coupons.

This is the 3rd time they are selling coupons since April if that means anything.

I think they've been offering it once a month for the past year..

I went there when they were on Bay Street a couple of years ago. They had a 2 for 1 deal going on back then. I remember being it pretty good for a fairly good price. $40 for 2 with a drink/tax/tip iirc. Haven't been recently tho

They used to occupy the space currently held by Crown Princess. They were for a time quite popular and quite good, I was surprised when they closed-not sure why.

I used to go every couple of months when they were on Bay St. Despite menus that looked good on paper, the food was really inconsistent. I think the new incarnation is owned by the same chef, though the previous owner/manager led me to believe that he had left the business. We found that when the chef-owner was in the kitchen, we got really good food. Otherwise, we'd be stuck with poorly seasoned, dry food.

I haven't been to the new place, but their 2 for 1 deals were generally good value. They're a bit of a loss leader though, just to get people in the door.

In the pictures I've seen, the food looks really good. I've been considering buying a coupon just to try it out. It looks about 100x better tyhan the highly esteemed Lahore Tikka "Hut"

That's probably because 5th Elementt classifies itself as "fine dining" whereas Lahore Tikka is more of a casual family place. Besides, food can look good but taste pretty crappy.
