What happened to the "Report" option?

Would like to exercise the "Report" option on a Boston Board post, but it's not showing up.

Is the tread possibly "locked?" If not, and you are for sure signed in to the board and you still aren't seeing the button then hit "Permalink" (assuming you see THAT button - and if not you were probably not signed in when viewing that post) and then copy the URL showing in your browser window and shoot it off to Moderators@chowhound.com and you can report it that way.

Thanks, it's now available & offending poster was removed.

The permalink button is visible to everyone, regardless of whether they're logged in.

Login is definitely where I'd start, though -- just making sure your cookie didn't expire without you noticing.

          What is Permalink for?

So you can link to one specific post in a thread.

              Thanks.
Where would that link appear? How would I access that post again?

You could save it to your favorites if you like or bookmark it on your browser or send it to the moderators if it's a problem or email it to a friend if you would like. It's simply a tool to pick out a single post in a thread that might be 100's of posts long.

For instance, suppose I thought a post I read in this http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/799379 thread (this is just an example) was particularly interesting and I wanted to show it to you. I could post the URL for that one post here in reply to you and you could go directly to it via my hyperlink: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/7993... (thanks to "greygarious" for the unsolicited use of their post for demonstration purposes! ;-D> ).

Ok. I just permalnked your post above. Then I tried to find it. Thought I would email it to myself as a test. But I couldn't find it anywhere.

                    Thanks for your patience.

After you hit permalink then you went to your browser window and highlighted the URL showing there, then you went to edit and chose "copy" and hit that, right? Then after that you opened up a "write email" box and clicked on the message part so the cursor was blinking there and then went back up to edit and hit "paste" right? That should work.

                        Ah, in my browser window...
Not there. Think I'll let it go for now though. Thanks for all your help.

I "right-click" (it's "control-click" on my Mac) on Permalink when I want to capture the URL of a specific post.
