Jenny's Farm Stand; Dexter, MI (DTW)

Out for a drive and happened upon Jenny's Farm Stand near Dexter. On a whim, I purchased jars
of various pickled veggies. I love their Hot & Spicy Pickles. Looking forward to trying the giardina
next.

Note: This is a full-year family business; not a wagon along the side of the road.

Might want to reconsider buying food from them....

Actually; I'll increase my support of their operation. Seems like the Township is running amuk.

Well put! But the health dept. isn't the township....

Not happy with their house-branded giardiniera. Many of the veggies are too pithy.

Very happy with the Jake & Amos hot & pickled cauliflower.

If you're in Dexter, you might want to try the Dexter Cider Mill while you're in town. They carry some pickles, too.

Weirdly broken website. I can access the products page, but when I click on a product icon/name itself, nothing happens. No description/picture/price, no nothing. Odd.

No, not broken. The HTML is fine. They simply do not have add'l content beyond a simple
          listing of their products.

Those pickles sound pretty interesting. I gather that the preciously cute ducks and baby lamb in the photos are for doding upon rather than for cutting/packaging up?

I don't recall seeing any meat freezers.

Ha! This place reminds me of the numerous canned/pickled food stands in the South, except this place doesn't call everything some kind of "chow chow".

My husband's always in the market for a good giardiniera, so we'll check this place out. It's a bit out of the way for us, but we'll make a trip soon!

I was back at Jenny's today. They have "Jake & Amos" branded chowchow. I believe that
they may have had their own "Jenny's" branded chowchow.
