Any place serve Vietnamese style chicken wings?

Just got back from Portland where there was this restaurant named Pok Pok that served these addictive spicy fish sauce chicken wings. Does anyone know if some place in LA serves something similar? Thanks

Pok Pok is actually a Thai restaurant, and I can't think of an L.A. place that exactly replicates the stinky-with-fish-sauce groove of their wings. That being said, the fried chicken at Jitlada and the chicken wings at Spice Table have a lot of the same sensations.

There was a previous thread where someone was looking for a place like Pok Pok:

Someone suggested Night+Market. Unfortunately they thought the chicken wings were just okay.

i don't think i've ever had any spicy fish sauce-esque chicken wings at vietnamese restaurants here.

i have however been on the longest quest for a really good vietnamese butter fried chicken wings since the vietnamese restaurant in rh at 99 ranch closed years ago. my mom says that's more of the true style, but of course, it's a lot cheaper to fry in oil here. i've tried a lot of places and not quite the same. lee kam kee makes some really good wings, but it's way too butter-y for me. i can feel my arteries clogging up. they also have another chicken wing dish on their menu. i think it's lemongrass? but when i tried it, it didn't taste like anything more than fried chicken wings...

I saw this place on TV, a few of the chicken wings I've encountered in Vietnamese to go places are lightly battered and fried then maybe sprinkled with salt so more of the salt and pepper style. I haven't seen those type of wings Pok Pok makes here ever, but they sound like a play on thit or ca kho. Or basically a very popular dish where fish or meat in caramel sauce that's made with fish sauce and sugar. Instead of using meat, they just throw the sauce on marinated and fried chicken wings.

I'm sure you could ask if a place could make them, but I've never seen them in So Cal. If anyone has, I'd like to know too!

thanks for the info. it kind of reminded me of korean style chicken wings but with more of a chili pepper heat. really addictive.

All the Lee's Sandwiches places have chicken wings.

Noodle World in San Gabriel and many Pho places also have Vietnamese style chicken wings, e.g. Pho Pasteur, Pho Saigon.

And I'm sure in Westminster there are places aplenty with chicken wings Vietnamese style.
