Anyone Been to Kokkari Lately?

I haven't been in a while, is it still quality?

Just went last night, found it as delicious as always. Especially tasty were the squash blossoms, spit-roasted sonoma lamb, and tzatziki (just my opinion, others loved the avoglemono sea bream and taramosalata most).

$50 a head after tax and tip, including a lovely bottle of Linmio (Greek red wine). Really one of the best overall experiences and values in town.

I have been twice recently. It is still very good...and the scene at the bar is a blast.. Ask for table 21, best seat in the house. Kokkari is also a restaurant on Savored. http://savored.com/about-us/
You pay $10 for your reservation...then get 30% off your entire bill, including drinks. Great if you go with a couple of people

Decided to have a look at that site. I needed to sign up in order to use it. Kokkari isn't on the list.

Sorry, I just noticed Kokkari is no longer on the list. It was for a while. Neither is Saha, where I used the service. I guess the list is fluid. Saison is still on the list. If you are flexible on your choice of restaurants, it is a great service.

You can reserve through Opentable and get the same Savored discount (if offered). No need to set up another account.

I've been by very recently, and I'd say the food is still good, but not a good value. They really seem to be geared towards the business lunch crowd. You end paying for the decor and service, which can be fine and appropriate if you're on a business lunch. If your main concern is the food, there are many other places that you can get "Mediterranean" food just as good and better for half the price.

I'm still a fan. Food remains strong, and it has other pluses:

            * easy to reserve for a weekday nice lunch: totally appropriate for corporate types without being sterile

            * appropriate for groups that have different food attitudes: not too boring for the adventurous, and not too exotic for the timid; lots of meat, and lots of meatless

            * they'll accommodate large groups easily

            * possible to have big meals or just snack on the smaller dishes

I stopped in for mezedes with an out of town visitor last month, and they were fantastic. We had the lamb riblets, roasted prawns in a delicate tomato sauce, and the meatballs in a slightly different tomato sauce. If anything it was better than how I remembered it, but I hadn't been there in years.
