Chatterbox Pub, St. Paul?

The Dairy Queen Aug 13, 2011 07:52 AM

Anyone been lately? Has the food improved any or is it still over salted and over sauced? Anything on the menu you recommend?

Was just at the one in St. Paul a couple of weeks ago - food is still generally pretty bad in my opinion, though some of my friends seem to like it. At least they have decent beer and games.

I haven't been to the St Paul location recently...but the one in Edina still has really bad food. So sad, I love the concept and don't mind going if I'm just getting a beer.

I had heard the Edina location didn't actually make their own food, they just heat up what they get from St. Paul. A former server told me that, no idea if it is true, but the food does taste sort of like it is mass produced and reheated.

Their breakfasts are decent and I love their homemade ginger ale (came in handy especially on Sunday mornings during my college years at St. Kate's).

I can't say it is my favorite place either, but when the weather is a little cooler, I really like their mac and cheese.
