I don't have any experience with beer, but check out Yardhouse. People are always ordering beer there, and from the looks of the menu, the place has quite a selection.

If your on the east side, definately Lucky Baldwin's and/or the Stuffed Sandwich. The stuffed sandwich is a unique place, however. They close at 7, you have to order food if you want beer (not bad, because their food rocks!) and if you want beer on tap, its reccomended you bring your own glass or buy one there, ubnless your OK with drinking beer out of a paper cup. Talk to the owner, Sam...he will let you know which Belgian beer is best for you.

No it isn't...the people who deliver their beer have reported to me that Barney's NEVER cleans their tap lines. After a while, all that gook and mold and icky goo builds up and affects the quality of the beer.

Lucky Baldwin's in Pasadena or Sierra Madre
T-Phillips in La Verne
BJ's (the chain) has many Belgians in bottles but few, if any, on tap.
Yardhouse does have a very extensive selection but is very expensive.
And last, but not at all least, Stuffed Sandwich in San Gabriel is the mecca for ALL types of beer.

I hate to start a war because it seems like every time Father's Office is mentioned all hell breaks loose, but ... Father's Office does have some Belgian styles beers, I am not sure if they are beers that are brewed in Belgium or brewed locally. Father's Office is a small spot on Montana and 10th that has about 40 micro-brewed beers on tap. Very good beer.

I have also been to the Yardhouse in Long Beach, and they have most of the beers that Father's has. The Yardhouse also has about 100 other beers as well. The Yardhouse is a completely different scene than Father's. Yardhouse is much larger, more of a chain style restaurant.

I like both places and I'm sure you will find excellent beers at both places.

This shouldn't be a debate.

Lucky Baldwin's is the place for Belgian beer in LA.

Dave (the owner) is a Brit, but he loves Belgians...he's even got some commendation from Belgian brewers for being so knowledgeable, or something...

Anyway, they always have at least 10-15 uncommon Belgians on tap with many more in bottles. (Try a bottle of Cantillon for the best lambics ever made...not for the inexperienced lambic drinker tho).

LB's has a Belgian beer festival in February where they rotate through about 80-90 different belgians over a 2 week period. I think they also do a mini-Belgian fest at some other point in the year. They serve pretty decent Belgian food at both.

Lucky Baldwin's
17 South Raymond Ave
Pasadena, CA 91105

In any event, I would not recommend the Yardhouse for Belgians. Most of the people there are drinking Bud Lite or Samuel Adams so the problem of stale beer and moldy lines is likely very bad.
