Just catching up on my G&M from the last few days and I saw this interesting article:

    So far, so good. Problem is, though, that "food service" companies are oligopolistic and demand the lowest prices from suppliers while keeping their take high--doubtful they'll squeeze their margins to cultivate virtue. Their complaints about bonding with local suppliers/growers borders on the disingenuous.

      A welcome initiative, and a bonus: the article reveals the absolutely depressing current state of local product availability despite the large sum of money likely spent on those terrible "Good things grow in Ontario" ads.

        Agreed tjr, and what about those annoying "Taste the good" ads?!!!
