Great Food and atmosphere for family dinner on the Strip

We are going on a family trip (all adults) to Las Vegas in October. We are all foodies, but are really not familiar at all with the Vegas restaurant scene. We would like to stay on the strip, have great atmosphere, and stay around 150/pp give or take. I have searched the board, but having a hard time narrowing down. Am open to any cuisine except probably not French. Thanks!

Where are you staying? That could influence suggestions too.

We are actually staying at our timeshare which is at the Hilton Flamingo. Honestly though, great food is the priority for us vs location.

$150pp should be able to get you a very nice dinner in an excellent restaurant. How large is your group...and what kind of food do you like? Too bad you've ruled out French because Bouchon was one of the first restaurants to come to mind. I'm pretty sure they can handle larger parties. So, let us know how many, and what your preferred cuisines might be?

There will be 6 of us. In terms of cuisine, we are open, but we don't want too formal for this occasion. We are all from New Orleans, so we are spoiled by delicious food and drinks in great atmosphere.

I am not a local LV resident, so I'm talking from just a handfull of experiences. We get to LV perhaps 2-3x/year. Four places that I think you should consider (look them up on the web and check their menus) are:

Sage at the Aria - beautiful & semiformal restaurant serving inventive American cuisine.
Milo's at the Cosmopolitan - Greek, Mediterranean restaurant specializing in seafood
Scarpetta at the Cosmopolitan - a Scott Conant restaurant - excellent Italian cuisine
Circo at the Bellagio - the more casual & Italian neighbor of the wonderful, but expensive and French, Le Cirque.
