Good place to shop for groceries near Cocoa Beach?

Hello fellow 'Hounds. Never been to Florida except for Pensacola once when I was a kid and will be bringing the kids to Disney and renting a house near Cocoa Beach. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good spot to buy meat, seafood and groceries in the area?

You might want to check out Maine'ly Lobster.

Petty's Meat Market in Suntree is another option. Be aware that anything beachside is 10 to 20% more expensive then on the mainland. Gas up before you go over the causeway to the beach.

I also love Petty's...but you'll have to go elsewhere for "basic" grocery items.

Thank you for all your help! I thought we were staying near Cocoa, but stayed in Kissimmee. I'll be back ASAP!

Petty's is a joke right? Their parents had a frozen meat market type store in Merritt Island for years and the place in Melbourne is just as bad. Questionable quality on meats and always check the dates on everything else, I guess if you don't know any better.

Publix is everywhere. For something more upscale, try the Green Turtle.

Thanks for your help. I have heard of Publix before, but we don't have them up here in MN. I'm thinking it's similar to Cub or Rainbow....

yes we have publix,winn-dixie and sweetbay chains in florida..

publix is good for a lot of things..
but i have liked winn-dixie better for meat buying..

but your staying just in cocoa beach?
how many days are u going to disney?

cuz its about an hour and half to 2 hour drive from cocoa beach to disney....they all open at 9am and some of the parks dont close until 10 or 11pm..
thats a lot of time in the car...its not going to leave much time for home cooking meals...

green turtle kinda looks like a place we have here..called Wynns market

I'll probably eat out once or twice so might as well throw that in there if anyone has any recs for good restaurants in the area.

For all things organic, the Sunseed Co-op especially now that they have the new vegies cases. Great and I mean great prices on extremely, fresh organic vegetables. An amazing well cared for selection of beer and some wines, better beers than wines in my opinion. Then, head to the port for seafood.
