Casual Sunday Afternoon - What shall i throw on the grill??

So I have decided to have a few people over Sunday afternoon ...Pool side then throw a few things on the grill....below is what I have planned, the questions is.... keeping it somewhat casual, what would you do? Yes, I am looking for suggestions ;)

BBQ wings - that have been marinated overnight in my Southern Comfort BBQ sauce

Chipotle burgers

Grilled potato salad

Homemade Ice Cream sandwiches

All sounds great to me - only thing I'd do different is make Hatch green chile burgers with cheese and trimmings, because I prefer those chiles to the heavy smoke in chipotle. Also, dear, you don't want to feed the kids the wings in the same sauce ...even if you cook it, you won't cook out the booze, and maybe you could just do some plain bbq wings for them, or teriyaki, which kids love pretty universally. I'd have something for folks to munch too; a crudite or two would be nice, or small mezze spread. Love the dessert sandwiches; they could assemble those themselves....and a super dessert is grilled bananas Foster tooo...

Oh no, kids get plain grilled wings with a dipping sauce, however my friends has a "gourmet" 10 year old, he is not your normal eating 10 year old...kid after my own heart!

Love bananas foaster...Did a Banana Foster stuffed french toast last week!

<< in my Southern Comfort BBQ sauce>>
Care to share your recipe? I recently threw a generous shot of Maker's Mark in the root beer BBQ sauce I make from Bon Appétit. Wasn't sure if it was lost in the mix of things, but liquored up BBQ sauce is definitely up this kat's alley!

        no seafood?

I would try some plit sardines, marinated in olive oil, hot chile, and garlic, skewered and grilled, then lightly dusted with breadcrumbs and lemon.

Or maybe some shrimp on rosemary skewers? Sliced grilled polenta?

How about a couple split eggplants grilled with portabello mushrooms?

          Can I come? ;)

I would suggest adding a simple green salad or a small veggie tray. I find the menu a bit heavy as is.

I always end up a bit in the heavy side...Don't know why?? Think I will add an Arugula Salad!

Arugula would be so good with your menu. That spiciness will go well with the rich foods on offer. Good call!

I am having a few people over this weekend, and have begun to think of the menu. so far, i am making grilled turkey tips, grilled asparagus and grilled corn. For sides, some potato salad, tomato salad and maybe a green salad. Love the idea of homemade ice cream sandwiches- there will be three kids at the meal, and they would love that idea.

We really like corn on the cob, grilled in husk.
