XIV - A Disappointment

A couple of very good dishes. The rest were okay. Serious lapses in service, including long periods with empty glasses. Impressive wine list; very extensive; very pricey. Overall: a serious disappointment. We won't be returning.

I agree globalgourmet. XIV was good but not what I thought it would be. The price was too high for the food. I wish the menu had a little more selection. Staff was trendy but a little cold

It was a nice dining experience when it first opened, though a bit odd with unusual restrictions about the tasting menu. But quite a while ago, they seemed to have given up on the food and morphed into what carter described....a cocktail lounge with blaring music.

A casual search of XIV on this board would probably have resulted in enough existing reviews to dissuade most interested parties from eating there.

Gee, what a surprise
A place known for its sunday afternoon boozeria/brunch/etal is not known for its food or service!
It is all about the booze, food is secondary, if you are lucky!
With less than fully-attired bodies hanging all over the patios for the viewing of the Sunset Blvd. traffic, gee, what about this picture don't I get?
