Cordon Bleu Vietnamese Restaurant - #4 half a 5-spice roast chicken for $7.60, SF - anyone?
Read a review in the SFWeekly about Cordon Bleu Vietnamese Restaurant claiming to be the first Vietnamese restaurant in SF, opened in 1968. Katie Yu, Chinese owner from HK, recipes from previous owner.
Anyone try the #4 - half a 5-spice roast chicken w/ country salad & meat (pork) sauce on rice $7.60? Meat sauce on rice is their signature dish.

Interesting that it's changed hands. Found my post from September 2001 . . . and reading it again, I'm still mad. Ordered that same combo. But since I seem to hit up Cordon Bleu once a decade, maybe it's time to return.

This place is fantastic. Just went again a few days ago - the chicken salad (cabbage, peanuts, etc with that same five spice chicken on top) is amazing. It's tiny, with probably 15 seats total, so I recommend take out.
