Camden, Rockport, Rockland other than Shepard's Pie

  • 3

Any suggestions for places in this area other than Shepard's PIe that are not lobster roll havens or the upscale Italian place (forget the name) in Rockland?

  1. How about Fresh in Camden near the harbor. My wife had a lobster spring roll that was very good and I had grilled hake wtih grilled potatoes and vegetables that was excellent. They have a pastry chef doing their own bread and desserts, both of which were very good. We also ate at Paolina's Way again. We both had their wood fired thin crust pizza and everything else we saw come out looked good as well. I also had the mixed green salad that was also very good. They apparently have a farm where they grow their own vegetables- our server also worked there and was proud of her work. Nearly everything else is locally sourced. I had a basil lime daiquairi that was refreshing although it might sound strange. My wife's dark and stormy used Maine Root ginger beer that was among the most gingery we've had.

      Rockport: Prism Restaurant & Gallery.

Camden: Besides the other recs above -- 40 Paper, Francine Bistro, Natalies, Long Grain.
