Vancouver Pizza

Hey all! I'm in the process of creating a pizza zine that focuses on pizza regionally, ie each issue is about, say, pizza-related things in NYC or Boston. The issue I'm currently working on is Vancouver. Admittedly, I've never been there nor do I have much knowledge of the area, at all. I have a correspondent based in BC who is helping me out, but basically I'm wondering if someone more versed in Vancouver pizza can point me in the right direction for places to look into, specific people to contact, Vancouver-specific pizza facts, etc. I'm looking for a real insider's approach, like what are overrated tourist spots vs great hole-in-the-wall joints, etc. Pretty much the zine is a compilation of recipes, reviews, stories, interviews, art, and more. Thanks for any help!

    Terry Deane (tdeane on here) is about to open a place called Barbarella, Bill Mc Caig owner of Nicili Antica Pizzeria , two guys who would have a better insight into the local scene than most

        I also suggest waiting till this winter prior to writing the article. Vancouver is experiencing a pizza wave and the scene has just exploded. However, there are a couple of anticipated pizzeria that have yet to open and will complete the picture of this city's pizza scene when they do. Vancouver has a lot of catching up to do as it came late to the party.

        So far, the new Napolitan joints here have not impressed. One or two are good, but nothing revelatory like some pizzeria in other cities ( eg close-by Portland and Seattle). It might take some time before the pizza here can rise to that level.
