Interesting lunch near JWayne Airport
Hello, flying into John Wayne around noon but sis can't pick me up for 2 hours. I am looking for an interesting place for lunch not too far from airport. I looked at 85C but is seems frenetic and unlikely to be comfortable for a long lunch. Also considering Renzi's Peruvian. Any good ramen places nearby?
I eat anything, so all suggestions are welcome. Appreciate your collective help.

Hopefully not today, or this will be too late to be of any use. Nearby you have Il Barone [former Pleasant Peasant space] or Onotria for good Italian, Pascal or its adjacent Epicerie for French--or, if you want to treat yourself very well, March Moderne at South Coast. Bistango offers very good California fare. Harry's and Renzo's are both good (I like the chicken in walnut sauce at Renzo's more than the sandwiches) but not likely to use up too much of the two hours unless you walk to them and there is nothing near either to hold your interest after lunch.

Renzo's is a solid choice. I've tried their sandwiches (ahi and pork), arroz con pollo, lamb shank and ceviche. All are fresh and really good.

Two options for ramen near SNA: Santouka in the food court of Mitsuwa supermarket in Costa Mesa. It's a rich, white pork tonkotsu soup and easy to like. It sounds like you're not renting a car? If so, you can probably hitch a ride on the shuttle to the Hilton Orange County -- the one on Bristol & Paularino, conveniently across from the Mitsuwa.
The other nearby ramen option is Mizuki, in a shopping center on Jamboree & Michelson. The atmosphere is less food-court, and the soups are good, but food-wise, I prefer Santouka. Also in this shopping center is a Houston's (you probably have one in your home city), Taleo's (decent, upscaled, gabacho-Mex), a Wahoo's (a So Cal based chain of grilled fish tacos. A bit bland but I still have fondness for it from eating it with friends when I first moved here).
