Diamond Jim's Grill (Bellingham)

  • 2

Was in Bellingham last Sunday morning at Habitat for Humanity's Re-Store, and was pointed to this unassuming diner on Meridian for breakfast.

What a find! A HUGE breakfast menu. Delicious food. Generous portions. Very reasonable prices. Good and friendly service. Great coffee. Good layout. Features mostly local beers and wines. My wife and I split their big plate breakfast (3 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage links, hamsteak, AFP ("American Fried Potatoes"), and 2 biscuits. $13.99. Most everything else is <$10, a lot <$7.

The lunch and dinner menus looked solid, too.

My only issue is the AFPs--which are red spuds diced and fried. I'm more a hashbrown guy, but the AFPs were good.

Anyone else have any input on this place?

Aloha,
Kaleo

Edit: Contrary to the link below, I think the address is 2400 Meridian Street

  1. Yes, the State Street address was the previous location -- that was bulldozed by the city for a street project.

I don't care for the AFPs either. I like the crunch of hashbrowns.

They have fantastic pancakes, not fluffy or cakey. My favorite breakfast is the 2-2-2 -- two eggs, two sausage links (or bacon) and two pancakes for $6.99.

    1. I like this place too! there are MANY nice restaurants for breakfast in Bellingham. For some strange reason...we have better breakfast restaurants than other ones. If you like Diamond Jim's Kaleo...you will like Bayou on the Bay for lunch!

      Trust me.
