Brewing beer, curing meat, or making cheese? Get great advice

I'm going to Sicily in September - Trapani, Erice, Agrigento, Siracusa, Mt. Etna, and Amalfi coast. Any suggestions for really terrific restaurants?

If you put your destinations into the Restaurant search it should generate a list of restaurants for each place with info on each if you click the name. You can use the map navigation tools to get more

Are you going to the Amalfi coast as well as sicily?

Jen I'm sorry to be such a dolt. Please be clearer about searching for a specific city i.e. Erice, Sicily. I clicked on Restaurants but am unable to see how to search for a specific city. (I'm not young, by the way,)
And yes I'm going to the Amalfi coast. We'll be near Ravello but without a car.

no dolt, its not user friendly.

go up to the top right corner above the search bar and click on Restaurant to make it a Restaurant, rather than Discussion search. In the second box, Location, put in say Trapani,IT. and click search. after a minute, it will give you a list of restaurants and a map showing location. Click on any of the restaurants and it will give you some info about them.

You could also sample this feature by clicking on one of the restaurants on the right - a full entry will appear and you can then click on the box below the map, and the box above to see nearby places. click on different parts of the map and use + and - to show more.

the Maria Grammatico pastry shop in Erice looks like a good place to stop in.

ps. if you want to talk about Amalfi coast/Ravello, better to start a separate thread. Ravello is amazing.

I have not yet written a report on the restaurants we tried during our trip to Sicily, so now may be a good time to recommend a few.
In Siracusa, I would recommend Ristorante Per Bacco. We loved this restaurant and thought of going back a second time as the fish was fabulous. The Zuppe di Mare was also a star. Don't miss the cannoli and tiramasu!
If you are travelling from Siracusa to Agrigento, Il Sakalleo in Scoglitto, is a fabulous local seafood restaurant which I wrote about in the thread http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/785635
La Madia in Licata, one of Sicily's best restaurants which is near Agrigento, is also recommended here.
In Trapani, the pizza at Calvino's Pizza is one of the best. We also loved I Grilli for a drink or casual meal. Dinner at La Bettolaccia was excellent. The mixed seafood entree was a great starter which we followed with busiate, the local pasta with seafood. The seafood couscous also looked great
You'll love Sicily- the people are so friendly and the food stunning.
