5 nights in Old QC w/ kids 8/13-18

I am traveling to Quebec City this weekend with my husband and two children (4.5 and 11.5). Several friends have given us names of nicer restaurants (most with good reviews) in the $20+ range.

Are there also any good, less expensive restaurants/cafes etc. where we can eat supper for under $60 total? Ethnic food is ok w/ us but we do want good, fresh food that hopefully is not from a chain-food type place.

  1. Good luck! We just came from QC, and the pickings are slim for some reason. You may get a recommendation for Buffet de l'Antiquare. Ignore it. I only had one dish and it was miserable. Boudin out of a package, sprinkled with nutmeg, and all of the sides (veggies & rice) either frozen or over cooked. A good rule of thumb is to stay out of restaurants WITHIN the walls of Old QC. If you're looking for ethnic-I did see a few Vietnamese/Thai places on the outskirts of Old QC (I got lost while taking the 801 Rt bus) as well as other restaurants that had plenty of Quebec license plates in their parking lots.

Will you have access to a car, by chance?
