Has anyone been there recently? A friend recommended it. I understand they are open in August and we are looking for good restaurants for next week.

Extraordinary décor, food so-so. If you like Vouvray, this is the place though.

The food's terribly mediocre here. Only good for oysters, maybe, the Vouvray and the setting.

I agree the food is so-so.
The service was worse last time I went. V.e.r.y s.l.o.w. Lasted four hours for my jetlagged party. By the time the cheque finally came, my party was comatose.

I'm convinced, we will look for another restaurant, thanks.

For very good traditional food in an old-fashioned bistro setting, I recommend chez Casimir, which is open this month except on the two weekends in the middle of the month.

We already have a reservation there for Tuesday night. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. We will be in Paris for ten days starting on Monday the 15th, only 4 more days...........

I went there in March (not exactly recently) but I don't think it's probably changed much since then (though they were serving oysters then, which they won't be doing again until fall). It's a good traditional French bistro, both decor and food wise.
