San Fernando Valley,... food and music??

Is there anywhere to get a food drinks while listening to live music around here,
I am tired of all these thugged filled bars and mexican joints with mariachi's!
I want somewhere i can sit back and drink a beer while listening to good live music?

I was surprised to find out Red Ginger which serves both Japanese and Thai food on Ventura Blvd. and Fallbrook has a singer and his guitar M, Th, & Sat pm.

Highly recommend Charlie O's for great jazz, good drinks & beer, solid (not distinctive) food. Wonderful old-style bar/club ambiance. Much more expensive, but excellent food is Vibrato @ top of Beverly GLen (just beyond Valley limits). Elegant dining, wonderful jazz (many of same musicians who play Charlie O's for much less $)

As westsidegal noted, sadly, my favorite hang out, Charlie Os, closed in August...not enough supporters of great jazz...Baked Potato good alternative, Cafe Cordiale has jazz some nights(call and confirm when), Vitello's, thats right, the joint made infamous by good ole Robert Blake, has great live jazz in 2 separate "rooms" many nights of the week...Vibrato overpriced and musicians regularly disrespected by loud obnoxious people...
