sexy date night in dc?
I am in Baltimore thinking of taking the wife on a date night to dc. I was think a sexy restaurant maybe in the Georgetown area (we can hang out afterward) We don't get to go out just the two of us alot, so we want to make the most of it. Any suggestions on restaurants or areas? PS food has to be awesome, not just the decor. Thanks so much!

I am a transplanted baltimorean now in montco. Good people watching, some shopping but tons of restaurants and bars in Pennsylvania quarter Chinatown to eat and people watch.
1. Jaleo: tapas. 2. Zataynia: meeze. 3. proof: wine bar good food. 4. PS7 interesting appetizers and cocktails. 5. Cuba Libre. 6. Woolfgang puck The SourceGeorgetown: Cafe Milano often has celebrities, Michelle Richard Citronelle: one of the top dc restaurant, can eat smaller and drink in their lounge. More shopping. Also funky shopping.
I would go to Chinatown/Penns quarter.hang and bar hop then eat and stay at a sexy hotel like the Mandarin international or the boutique Hotel George or hotel Monaco in Penns quarter.

I wouldn't go to Georgetown. I would head to the Chinatown/Penn Quarter area or the Logan Circle area. That is where the hip and sexy restaurants are and you could still hang out afterwards.
Proof to me is sexy, very dark lighting, with a modern edge and excellent food. Zaytinya always has a sexy bar crowd. Oya has a nice bar too, as well as, PS7 for after.
I also think Fiola might fit the bill too, but then you would have to walk up to the other bars.

Chinatown has a few stores, though nowhere near as many as Georgetown. Definitely people watching, though. It's a booming area. I agree that Oya is definitely a sexy atmosphere. If you are insistent on Georgetown, Mie n Yu has the atmosphere you're looking for - but the food isn't nearly as good as most that is in Penn/Chinatown. Georgetown just doesn't have an abundance of great food.

The U St. area might also be good for this, they have some cute boutique stores and etc, but I don't know how late they stay open as I am not up there a lot.
Georgetown has great shopping, not so great food, unless you want to go all out and go to Citronelle, although I don't think it's that sexy.
