  • 9

Hi All,

Fiancee and I are having our wedding at the end of this month (August 27) and need a restaurant for the reception as our original restaurant was Byrant Park Grill but they are now closed for a private event ;-(.. So we Need to find some place ASAP... We really would like an outdoor space but isn't mandatory but would like a restaurant similar to BPG. There will be 16 people and a child. Hope you all can help and thank you in advance.

  1. You can use Opentable to check out places with private dining:

In terms of outdoors, only Battery Gardens and Gigino's Battery Park come to mind, but they are not food destinations (but neither is BPG really). Also, fellow Chowhounders will ask you about price range, so I might as well ask right now.

    Best of luck and congrats!

I've looked through opentable and found nothing. My budget is 100 per person.

    2. I recently had a very pleasant dinner at Bottino in Chelsea. They have a covered garden. According to their website, they have a room for a minimum of 18 people, but maybe they would work with you. Or maybe just set up an area in the garden.

      1. We went to Tonic East at 3rd Ave and E29th but the roof deck was packed. My son and fiancee love it and hang out there Sunday afternoons. I can't comment on the food but they like it.

            1. Here's two to try: New Leaf Restaurant (www.newleafrestaurant.com) up in Ft. Tryon, and Terrace in the Sky (www.terraceinthesky.com) on a rooftop of a building in Morningside Heights. Both have excellent food and service; go to the sites and hit either "events" or "weddings". A couple of the best views on the planet.

Ive checked Terrace in the Sky and the menu isn't what were looking for and New Leaf which we loved was aso booked for a wedding. Any other suggestions, I am looking at Serefina on Upper Eastside.

              2. I Trulli is an Italian restaurant on E. 27th street with a beautiful Garden Room. You can call there and tell them your dilemma, and I'm pretty sure you can book space for your party, if they're not already booked. Their food is delicious, and the space is charming.

Gascogne (8th & 18th) has a covered garden in back that you also could book space in. Again, prices aer moderate and the food is great.
