Any good chow between Stratford and St. Marys?
The best restaurant found between Stratford and St. Mary's would be Woolfy's on Hwy 7. Woolfy's serves interesting contemporary food made with local ingredients, and the service has always been good when I've dined there.
The Westover Inn serves the best upscale continental food made with local ingredients in St. Mary's proper. The lunches (the mains at lunch are less than $18) are much more economical than their dinners (mains are in the $20s and $30s). The mains at dinner cost as much as the mains at many of the better restaurants in Stratford. The Westover tends to be much quieter and less crowded than most of the upscale restaurants in Stratford.
Christopher Plummer stayed at the Westover last summer when he starred in the Tempest, and I understand he ate many of his meals at Woolfy's and the Westover.
There's also the Stonetown Diner in St. Mary's, which is a typical diner, serving decent breakfasts, BLTs etc. I haven't tried any of the Chinese restaurants, pubs or pizza restaurant on Queen Street, the main street in St. Mary's.

If you only have one meal in the area, I'd eat at Rundles (around $90 for the prix fixe in the Restaurant, $54 for the prix fixe in the Sophisto Bistro), The Old Prune (around $80 for the prix fixe) or Simple (less than $20pp). If you have several meals in the area, I'd have a couple meals in St. Mary's, and a couple meals in Stratford.

Some great info in there. BTW, if you haven't left for your trip yet, I recommend bringing your bathing suit! There is the St. Mary Quarry that has great swimming.
I have only eaten in St. Mary's twice and unfortunately post times were at a very mediocre pub by the water. I forget the name of it but it seemed like mainly cooked frozen food.
I eat lunch at the Westover around once a month.
Have been enjoying their Hutton House grass-fed beef burger lately.
Nice house-made ice cream and desserts, too. Especially like their frozen lemon meringue torte, which is sometimes a special, topped with shards of crisp meringue.
