Restaurants that are english friendly in my area?

I am going to be staying in the Taito-Ku area just south of Shinokachimachi station, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of restaurants in the area that are english friendly so english menu or would be ok with ordering in really broken japanese?

Also if anyone knows of a Kaiseki place around that area that is good that would be wonderful, I have to take out some friends on my last week and the only Kaiseki place I could find was quite ways away.

Heuuu... Menu in English will be difficult to find in this down town classic area, but that is a nice place to stop. The only succintly translate English menu that I know is the 1 Michelin star Izakaya Shinsuke. 
Concerning kaiseki, for a very reasonable price and with a speciality of chicken sukiyaki, i will recommend Inshotei in the Ueno park (diner kaiseki menu including torisukiyaki 5300.-yens or 6300.-yens) 
On summer, they have also some kind of bento (=cold basket). 
Are you staying at the Ryokan Katsutaro ? If that is the case, this area has a lot of specialities shop like 'konnyaku shop', 'sembei shop', 'tofu shop', 'sake-whisky-beer shop'..and I will give you tips to 2-3 local eat out.
