Has anyone seen rhubarb in Oakland/Berkeley stores recently?

I had some rhubarb pie recently and I'd like to make some for myself. Thanks.

  1. Monterey Market has had it for a while, and I saw some at the Berkeley Farmers Market a few weeks ago (Kaki Farms, I think).

    1. The stuff I saw at the Berkeley farmers market last Saturday was kind of scrawny and pale, did not look nearly as nice as what I bought from Monterey Market a while back.

Saw it again at the farmers market today. Swanson? It was firm but very green.

      2. Berkeley Bowl East today (yes, I survived Saturday at the Bowl):
rhubarb from Washington, $2.39 per pound. It looked OK, a bit green.
I did not see organic rhubarb, which has recently been available at about $4.50 per pound.

        1. Not that close to Berkeley, but in St. Helena (Napa Valley) Sunshine Foods has some organic rhubarb. Deep red and firm. $4.69.
