While in Seattle we had the most amazing massaman curry at a Thai resto; is there some place in Calgary that does a good one? Something similar?

  1. Delicious Thai (Kensington area on 10th St. NW) which is discussed in the other thread about Thai food in Calgary does an excellent one, although it's been a few years I also thought Thai-sa-on (10th Ave SW behind Gulf Canada Sq.) did a good job of theirs as well.

I was going to say Delicious Thai as well for massaman. If you go here be sure to get the green papaya salad as well......it's a bit of a taste explosion and waaay better than most that I've tried in cow town.

They're actually going to have the papaya salad at Taste of Calgary so I'll be sure to try it there—thanks for the tip!

    2. We FINALLY got to Delicious Thai this Saturday (can't usually get out to dinner and they're not open for lunch on Saturdays). Thanks ever so much for the rec's! The curry was wonderful and the wontons, papaya salad, pad thai, coconut rice and sticky rice w/ mango were all...well, delicious! Great service too. This is definitely going on my "return" list.

      1. White Elephant (1808 19 Street N.E, Calgary,) has the best Thai I have eaten in Calgary. It was my first visit last night, and I was super impressed. Hard to find - have to go through the rather dodgy lobby of the Point Inn hotel. We had the Matsaman beef curry last night and it was incredible. Don't let the Thai dressed Barbies dissuade you.

Ha ha, yeah. I've been to White Elephant. It is amazing BUT the hotel is rather dodgy.

        2. I am NOT a massaman connaisseuse, but I couldn't complain about the one I had at Rose Garden Thai...
