Documentary tomorrow night about Vancouver chefs

The Vancouver Recipe 7 p.m., CBC

Just noticed this in TV Week. Apparently this documentary looks at why Vancouver is attracting "world-class" chefs. It will explore the city's food culture, local ingredients and the people creating menus from them. Could be worth a squint.

World class chefs like Daniel Boulud, who phone it in and then give up? ;)

You will note I added quotation marks to the term world class which is a personal pet peeve of mine. I also still find it irritating that there is no real information about this show on the CBC website but I will stop whinging now, set my DVR and see what I get. It will be interesting to see which chefs are showcased.

Not holding my breath that it won't be a big glass of booster juice.

I have never seen a show on food/culture/chefs in Vancouver, ever. I'm really looking forward to seeing it whether it's "fluff" or not.

I was being grumpy. Had a cup of coffee...feeling better now.

Better make sure you have a pot of that nearby then when you watch the show. It's an hour long ad.

Now I'm intrigued. Will it be available online somewhere?
(edit: I gave up finding any sign of it on the CBC Vancouver TV schedule).
(edit again: found the listing http://www.cbc.ca/programguide/progra... but no stream).

That's disappointing, clutterer. I haven't watched it yet.

I got turned back going to Whistler today because of an accident on Hwy99 and forfeited my first pre-paid night at a hotel there. So...I got home in time to watch it...

And, yeah, I fell asleep twenty minutes in. Tried to re-watch it when I woke up and the hour felt like three. I laughed at how fmed was right. Crap! Utter crap. :-(

I had no idea it was that sunny in Vancouver.

Most of the show was what you'd expect: multiculturalism, emphasis on locality, etc etc etc.

There was an odd few minutes where they start in on the lack of high level service in town, and then leave that interesting tidbit without much conclusion.

Thank you for this. I have set the PVR and am sure it will be worthwhile watching.

Most welcome. I just hope it's right (confirmed on zap2it). I spent a very frustrating 20 minutes trying to find out more about it on cbc.ca
