Informal off-the-grid on Hayes St.?

  • 1

Spotted a new food pod in Hayes Valley today: Bacon Bacon, Ritual Coffee, Let's Be Frank (refined hot dogs) serving from trucks/carts/portable facilities at the lot on Octavia between Linden Alley and Hayes St. I didn't have time to stop for information re whether this is a permanent set-up, whether other vendors might be added, etc. Any information out there? Bacon Bacon appeared to have a very short list of odd offerings.

  1. Different food trucks will rotate in the proxy almost everyday... usually 2 at a time. It is organized by Off the Grid. Best to follow OTG's twitter or FB to see who will be parked their. @sfcarts

That lot has been getting a lot of new developments lately. They call it the Hayes Proxy (http://proxysf.net/). They've built in a few temporary giant crates where small businesses operate in. Smitten Ice Cream (who started dishing out as an underground cart/wagon around the city) was the first to start selling goods in the Proxy. Ritual Coffee is right adjacent to that. Suppenkuche plans on having a beer garden in there soon too.
