Downtown Oakland - who delivers?

I am in the process of opening a new office for my company at 436 14th Street in Oakland.

We have a lot of company meetings that involve catering lunches. In my other office (in Napa), I am usually the one who has to run out and pick-up the food and get it set-up for the meetings, but this may not be possible in Oakland.

I need to figure out what eateries are in the neighborhood for take-out and also that deliver.

This is around City Center.

Thanks!

As the owner of Cafe 15 in Downtown Oakland I can tell you without a doubt that for large orders/ Catering we do deliver. Orders over $150 are considered large. I am sorry that you were misinformed, I hope that we can cater a lunch for you soon.

I attended a day long meeting today at 1330 Broadway and they got food catered by Our Cuban Kitchen. Very yummy chicken thighs, black beans & rice, butternut squash entree, and fried plantains. The person who ordered said that the owners were very accommodating of their budget.

Caffe 817 is a staple for delivered sandwiches in my office- Hobbs meats, Acme bread & a vegetarian eggplant option. They come with a good green salad w/ balsamic vinaigrette, Italian sodas and biscotti.

The catch is that they deliver only on orders of 10 or more lunches.

Thanks, Pius! That is a great menu - and we do often need more than 10 lunches!

I'd check out Cafe 15 and Ratto's for sandwiches. Not sure about delivery but both are worth a call given the food.

This has all been really helpful - thanks. Looks as though you are right, ML8 - neither Cafe 15 nor G.B. Ratto deliver...

But the leads I've been given here will help me get the office set-up!

We have catered lunches in my office from time to time and I think all these places deliver, in addition to those already mentioned:

            Brown Couch Cafe (14th/Webster) (sandwiches)
Espresso Gourmet (14th/Franklin) (dolmas, hummus, lentils & rice, tabbouli, etc.)
Pizza Rustica (pizza, rotisserie chicken, salads)
            Whole Foods
            Fountain Cafe (yuck)
            La Salsa (yuck)

I am not 100% sure they deliver but I think they might, quite nice food and sweets:

                They have a catering menu.

I am happy to say the restaurant I have mentioned several times recently does have delivery., Chef Edwards, and it's only 1/2 mile for pick up.

Oh, a bbq place with mac n' cheese1 How is the mac n' cheese? The pulled pork? The ribs? (I will look up your posts as your palate is re-fine!)

I don't think I was wowed by the mac and cheese(been a while), but did like the beans and really liked the cole slaw which perked up the Piggly Wiggly, a large sandwich for $5. The potato salad profited from a helping of chopped pickles. I am working on my second slab. There is so much to eat I have take it in stages.

Really is called the Piggly Wiggly? That's the grocery chain my mother frequented in Chamblee, GA. I thought you were kidding. Must be an homage.

We used to go to the Pig & Pit in Valdosta for ribs. But no ice cream after. That wouldn't have been kosher.
