Private chef for Thanksgiving dinner?

Hi Hounds,

In mid-September I'm having some major surgery and I'll be out of cooking commission for 6-8 weeks, then slowly working my way back. My husband and I were really looking forward to hosting Thanksgiving this year, but I think it's going to be too much for me to handle.

So trying to have the best of all worlds, my husband conjured up the idea of having someone come to our home, prep us a Thanksgiving feast, serve it up, then leave. Husband has committed to the cleanup.

Does anyone know if such a service exists? Have recommendations for us?

    I know in the past, Summer Shack/Jasper White does a take out Thanksgiving meal with deep fried turkey. But I'm pretty sure it is a Wed pickup and reheat thing. Good luck with your procedure and recovery.

      Yeah, deep-fried turkey's not this crowd's bag, anyway and I'm never very thrilled w/Summer Shack food. But thanks for the good wishes!

      I don't have any recs on the chef, but best wishes for a quicker than expected recovery!

        any catering
        service or private chef will do this for you. and clean up is usually included in the price

          That's great, but I'm looking for specific recommendations, too - never hired anyone to do anything before and we'd like it, of course, to be really good!
