Osaka to Typhoon, Middletown, CT

Went to Osaka (friend's birthday, her pick.) we stood in the doorway for 10 minutes, staff walking by totally ignoring us. To me, if I can't even get seated, what will the food be? We left and went to Typhoon (Thai.)
When we walked in we were told it was BYOB, went next door and bought some wine. Waited about 5 minutes for a table (for some reason they wanted everyone in a booth and not in the center, it was fine.) The staff was very friendly and courteous, except it would have been nice if our waitress poured our wine after corking it and came back to check on us after our food was served.
No rush to order, very nice pace with ordering and serving. We started with spring rolls to share among 3. Was very crispy and light, not greasy. I had a Tom Yum Pho bowl, freinds had Pad Thai, Drunken noodles, and a Spicy Sizzling platter (looked like fajita filling.) 2 things with the Pho- it was labled spicy on the menu and it was not spicy at all, I had ordered beef and shrimp and there may have been 4 pieces of meat, total. The broth was tasty, and we all enjoyed our food otherwise. I would have loved to have had some hot sauce, but as mentioned earlier, nobody came to check on us. The food was wrapped and we were given 'American' desserts: Reeses Cup, Mounds bar, and Kit Kat. Didn't ask us to order any dessert, I think they wanted to leave.
Bill was quite reasonable ($76.00 with a generous tip) for an app and 4 main dishes (friend took one home to her husband.
Not fine dining, or the best Thai I've had,but very good, and very friendly people, will be going back.
