Fresh seafood in Norfolk/Virginia Beach area?

I love living in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, but every now and then I just have get down to the ocean for some really fresh, simply prepared seafood.

My wife and I are planning to spend a weekend in the Norfolk/VA Beach area in mid-September and I'd appreciate hearing recommendations from any of the local Hounds who share our love of fresh fish, crab, shrimp, etc.

I'll try anything from formal dining to casual seafood shacks if the food is high quality and delicious.

Thanks for any suggestions you may have!
John

Dockside on Shore Drive in Virginia Beach fits your criteria. Food is really simply prepared, to the point of plain, but very fresh. Their steamed crabs are awesome.
    Great view of Lynnhaven Inlet.

I prefer Bubba's or Chix Beach to Dockside for sitting on the water with fresh seafood (as long as you're prepared for the wait!). One Fish Two Fish is great for a nicer meal. Lastly, the while I wouldn't recommend much at Catch 31, their seafood tower is one of the best meals in Hampton Roads. If you're in Norfolk, try A.W. Shucks for oysters and great fish and chips.
