The anchovy broth was damn fine. This time, grabbed "Soy Bean Handmade Noodles", which turn out to be the same flour noodles in cold, foamy, granular soy milk. It tastes fresh to me. Guessing the graininess comes from actual soy beans? It's all foamy. They're like everything good about alfredo noodles, without the annoying cloying butter-cream-oozing-out-your-pores feeling. Great. Clarifying. Good dumplings, too. Outside, while we ate, police cordoned off an area and police dogs started searching the car dealership across the street for some trapped fugitives. Occasionally, we would get up from our table in the otherwise empty restaurant and hang out with the waiter and the cooks at the door and watch as the police gathered with their dogs to make the assault or whatever. My friend Lennon pointed to the dogs. "See those dogs? They're not german shephards. They're smaller and smarter and meaner. I used to have a dog like that."
